About me

My name is James Min, and I was born and raised in northern Virginia. From there, a drive for adventure, discomfort, and growth has led me through many different worlds.

This journey started with a foundation in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University, where I honed my passion for dissecting and solving complex technical problems. I then took this foundation to the U.S. Air Force, where I served five years as a military officer and Special Agent leading counterintelligence operations in high-stakes conditions. It was a trial-by-fire that forged my leadership philosophy and taught me how to build high-impact, mission-driven teams.

After my service, I threw myself into the business world by first earning an MBA at Harvard Business School. I then joined McKinsey & Company for two years in its Sydney office, where I enjoyed a masterclass in problem solving, as I advised senior leaders across Australia and Southeast Asia on their most pressing strategic challenges.

My path has taught me to lead and operate in any environment imaginable — from military operations to corporate boardrooms — across the US, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. It has forged a unique blend of on-the-ground operational grit, real-world leadership experience, and high-level strategic thinking, and I stand ready and excited to carry these lessons with me into the next chapter of my journey.

About the name, KCT

The name KCT is a tribute to my parents, Kristy and Calvin. Growing up, I watched them run their own small business — also named KCT — which supported our family.

I carry on the name as a homage to their labor, as a testament to the good a business can provide, and as a promise to build a legacy guided by the values they lived: integrity, hard work, and stewardship.
